“Are you Scott?” asked the bloke as he slid to a stop in the snow beside me. I had seen the tiny skidoo make its way up the mountain as the sky grew darker, and twilight set in. At 7yrs old, I was bored with the action down at Smiggin’s Pub after we'd finished skiing for the day, and had snuck away from mum and dad and climbed a few hundred metres to the peak behind us..
I spent the majority of my childhood outside, exploring the bush and coastline around home. My obsessions centered around the ocean and mountains which has fuelled many a trip chasing waves or snow.
I have a deep appreciation for the natural world, and a love of spending time immersed in it both at home in Wollongong, as well as abroad. I still love nothing more than escaping up a mountain or into the ocean with my camera to experience the freedom it offers.
