The Finish Line (2025)
I grew up playing just about every sport available to me, and some may say I’m sliiightly competitive. One of my favourite aspects of athletic pursuits is seeing the outpouring of emotions when the final whistle blows or the finish line is crossed.
Months and often years of work go into these performances and trying to capture the first moments when it’s all said and done is something I’ve come to love. It’s not always glory, but you can always see the meaning behind each individual's effort and path that’s led them to that moment.
We’ve been lucky enough to have multiple World Championship events hosted in my hometown of Wollongong over the past few years, and watching and photographing these athletes race around the streets I call home is always a good time. Athletes and spectators from all over the world help to create an awesome atmosphere and I can’t wait to see what the next one will be.
These images are a spectrum of the emotions at the finish line of the World Triathlon Championship Series Final, Wollongong, Australia.
